A fairly new coffee drink that was born in 2007 by the Swedish roastery Koppi, and has since seen many alterations. It’s a modern classic which provides that perfect fresh pick-me-up combining the energisers espresso and tonic.
Sjöstrand’s own take on this drink is a perfect way of providing some weekend luxury with little effort. The drink is perfect for gatherings as it’s just as delicious with, as without gin.
Ingredients (1 serving)
2 dl tonic water
1 capsule of Sjöstrand Espresso N°2
4 cl gin of good quality (optional)
A slice of lemon
1 large glass (able to contain 3 dl or more)
1 cup (for espresso brewing)
1 metal spoon
Step 1. Have the ice ready in your freezer
Step 2. Brew a cup of espresso and let it cool.
Step 3. While the coffee cools, slice your lemon.
Step 4. Fill your glass with ice and pour in the gin.
Step 5. Add the cooled coffee to your glass.
Step 6. Top up your drink with the tonic water.
Step 7. Garnish with your lemon slice and serve it cool.
